Give and you shall Recieve

As I was walking out of the gym this afternoon, I passed a Christmas tree (fake and miniature) sitting on a table, with presents spread out underneath it. At first, I barely even noticed it. But as I sat down in a chair waiting for my friend to finish up, I realized that I had completely disregarded a good cause like every average ignorable human being.

I walked over to the tree and read the description. They were asking people to pick a card from the tree and buy whatever present was on the card. The presents would go to the less fortunate for Christmas. I proceeded to reflect on how lucky I am compared to others, and how easy it would be for me to help out such a cause.

Immediately I thought, "these kids would be so excited to unwrap a present on Christmas morning". This thought made me smile because I felt like I could help someone in need. I took a tag from the tree and I plan on returning it with a gift attached.

Sometimes us humans just need to step back and look in to the world from the outside. We think we need so much, but what exactly do we "need"? What does that word even mean? To me, people in need are those who are hungry, cold, without clothes or shelter, and without families. I do not classify those who "need" the newest version of the iPad as people in need.

Let's all make it a goal to give something this Christmas. I think we can all afford it. We all know that what goes around comes around, so by giving to someone else during these holidays, you will also be doing yourself a favor.

Positive Energy

A lesson that I learned this past week is that life doesn't give you time to be angry.

I watch people every day as they complain, cry, gossip, lie, and cheat. Let's be honest, we all do it. I do it... Not proud, just being honest. We don't have time to get used to these habits. Tell me, what good is complaining going to do? Is holding a grudge going to make things better?

Now, we've all been backstabbed before. It's a part of life, we call it "friends for a reason". The "reason" that these "friends" come into our lives is that these backstabbers teach us a lesson. What teenage girls have not yet understood is that after they've learned this lesson, they need to move on. There is no point in trying to get revenge on our backstabbers. If anything, we should be thanking them for teaching us a valuable lesson.

The bottom line is that us girls should learn that happiness will never come from grudges, lies, revenge. No. Happiness comes from forgiveness, laughter, friendship. No one wants to look back on their lives and realize that they wasted two years hating someone.

So, girls, forget your grudge against the girl that stole your ex-boyfriend. Forget about the time when your ex-best friend revealed your deepest darkest secret. Forget the rumors that some random person started a year ago. It's not going to matter in twenty years. I say rekindle the friendships, because the more friendships you have, the merrier. Don't waste life away being angry.

Be happy.

A Leap of Faith

How often does one think about their future?

For me, my future is what I fall asleep thinking about every night. I mean, the future is such a mystery to EVERYONE. Who knows what is in store for us? The future is unpredictable, so we have to live like we know we'll die tomorrow.
Yeah, I know, it's a pretty cliche phrase. But think about the truth and meaning behind it; today really truly could be your last day on this earth, you never know.
People should be taught to live life like there is no tomorrow. Again, cliche. Yeah. Well, I say it's about time that we take risks and stop living life inside of our shell. Next time I go to six flags, I'm going on Bizarro. I'm going to pay the price to go to the next Katy Perry concert. I'm going to donate my spare change to the charity fund at the super market, rather than pretend I don't see them. No Regrets

Last thought, my friends. It's not about playing it safe. It's about LIVING, and LEARNING on the way.

What Makes You Smile?

Two Young Pretty Girls Laughing Photo gallery image Candid-Kids-Photography-013

Is it the smell of your favorite pastry?
Is it the sound of your most recent favorite song?
Is it the jokes that you share with your best friend?
Is it winning your championship game?
Is it the color purple?
Is it your favorite book?

Whatever it is, smiling keeps you young. You have to learn what makes you smile and hold on to it. Whenever you find yourself having a best day, you can always look to these things to brighten your life up.

Smiles are contagious, so put a smile on your face and send it to someone who needs one. :)

Everybody wants to be in Love

If there's one thing all girls have in common, it's that they want to find love. Perfectly logical, right? It's easy, fun, unique, magical... But love is only these things once we have actually found it. However, looking for love is a whole different story. Looking for love comes with pain, rejection, lies, and tears. 99 percent of the time, it will end up that way. So why do we even bother?....

"Love is the closest thing we have to magic."

That is why, girls. That is why we sacrifice so much of ourselves to find the perfect love.

Food for Thought

Attention teenage girls around the world:

Pause your life for one minute and ask yourself, why am I alive?

There are unlimited responses to this question, and more than likely, you will come up with more than one answer. Maybe you don't know why you're alive. Well, this is the time to think of a few reasons.
You are young. There is SO much life in you. So don't let the time pass you by... Decide on one new thing to do/try each day, and do it. Who wants to look back on their life thinking, why didn't I take more risks? Live life with NO regrets, and you'll leave this earth satisfied.
